Samsung Tocco Lite Review

The Tocco Lite is virtually identical to the LG Cookie and retails at a more expensive price, so is the Tocco Lite really a worthwhile purchase?

To look at, the handsets are exactly the same shape and size, as are the screens.  The screens are also the same specification in type, colour definition, size and pixels.  The screen is a big one – 3 inches – and works with Samsung’s Touchwiz, a familiar interface to the Samsung faithful.  It is a popular interface and the mobile widgets allow you to customise the home screen so that it is simple to access the functions such as traffic conditions, the clock, etc.  It comes with a built-in accelerometer sensor that lets you rotate the screen between portrait and landscape.

Like the LG Cookie, there’s a 3.2 megapixel camera with smile detection and digital zoom.  It also allows you to edit your photos on-screen.  There’s also a basic camcorder.

There’s a FM radio with RDS and the Tocco Lite supports the downloading of MP3 ringtones.  The audio quality is above average.

The LG Cookie and the Tocco Lite both have memories that increase to 16 GB with a memory card.  Also like the Cookie, this does not have Wi-Fi so access to sites like YouTube is slow and laborious.

This is a budget phone and for the money is a little cracker.  On the whole, the Tocco Lite just sneaks ahead of the LG Cookie in terms of value for money.
