HTC HD2 Review
An HTC HD2 review shows that this unit has rapidly become a popular touch screen phone, with its Windows technology enabling fast, smooth responses from the handset, whether you are surfing the Internet, typing emails or changing applications.
HTC has rewritten the master system software to enable the screen to have the same functionality as the iPhone, with the result that they have produced an excellent competitor. This computer based technology means the HD2 works efficiently and has a very responsive touch screen. The virtual keyboard is exceptionally quick and possesses a really useful predictive text facility.
The screen, which has a 4.3-inch display area, also makes video playback a joy, and its processor again ensures that the clips are smooth, not having the jerky feel that some touchscreen phones have.
Its eye catching design, and cool, rounded shape has a professional chic about it, while its ease of use will make it a popular model. Applications are easy to access and simple to configure and customise. Things like the wireless hot spot function and its climate detector, where it can tell you about the weather outside are useful.
The applications can all be synchronised between diary, calendar and contacts and it has the ability to remotely back-up the system onto a server, so worries about losing contacts and appointments need not be of concern.
The HD2 is quite a large phone by today’s standards, noticeably bigger than others on the market. If there is a problem it seems to be with compatibility with the Windows Mobile system, which can cause the phone to run slowly, but it more than makes up for this with its overall speed and look.
