This helps to avoid any charges related to MMS and SMS.

Considering that majority of business users were using BlackBerry earlier, there was never an issue with it not being a cross-platform application. Though BBM has managed to keep its users firmly within the BlackBerry camp, companies are now facing a problem of providing some means of low-cost and secured communication with more and more employees now switching to Android based devices and iPhones.

How is Apple addressing their customers on this front? They have come up with their version of messenger, called iMessage. Similar to the BBM, iMessage is a single platform application and will be a part of the new iOS 5. Using this, iPhone users can communicate with no one else but only other iPhone users.

Though some apps exist which can connect users across different platforms, the level of functionality remains an issue. None of these third party apps deliver what BBM does.

A rumour is doing rounds that RIM is planning to offer its BlackBerry Messenger to iOS as well as Android, though the probability of Apple doing so with iMessage is least likely.

We just hope that we do not lose such an excellent tool of communication in this war of big guns.

I recently read a thought provoking blog regarding Blackberry and why the blog author, William E Ketchum III will stick to the phone.

Internet is overflowing with mobile phone news websites reporting about the unfortunate end of the Blackberry era, primarily owing to its incompetence vis-à-vis Apple and Android phones. While it may sound quite appealing to go along with the market populars, Mr Ketchum feels there are many good reasons to remain loyal to BlackBerry.
Post from: Cash for Mobiles

Internet is overflowing with mobile phone news websites reporting about the unfortunate end of the Blackberry era, primarily owing to its incompetence vis-à-vis Apple and Android phones. While it may sound quite appealing to go along with the market populars, Mr Ketchum feels there are many good reasons to remain loyal to BlackBerry.

1.BBM rocks. Any former Blackberry enthusiast can be overheard missing BB messenger during mobile phone conversations.

2.Are all those applications really of any use? Although it is exciting that there are more than 80,000 applications available, however, talking of practicality, how many of them do you think you’ll use or need, especially if you use your phone primarily for work.

3.RIM is the best when it comes to smart phone security. Encryption capabilities of the Blackberry phone are unmatched in the mobile phone market. Since it was always meant to be a business phone, it has maintained its identity throughout and continues to do so.

4.BlackBerry’s email capabilities are much superior in comparison to its counterparts. I learnt this the hard way. My new phone (with an OS I’ll choose to keep anonymous) just doesn’t have the same thing – and no, the applications don’t make up for the loss.

5.If rumours are to be believed, BlackBerrys are all set to support Android applications in the near future. So, BlackBerry users will have the best of both the worlds.

6.It’s great to be a pear in the world of Apples.

The survey approached 2,001 smartphone users out of which 28 per cent currently use an Android and 26 per cent are using Apple iPhone. BlackBerry users in the UK constituted 14 per cent of this, while Symbian users stood at 6 per cent and users of Windows Mobile Phone 7 at 5 per cent of the respondents. Nokia, as we know, is moving from Symbian to Windows Phone 7 beginning from the new year.

The most popular was the Android, as the survey results revealed, but undoubtedly iPhone users were definitely the most intense. A whopping 18 per cent of the users claimed that they spent more than four hours a day on their iPhones, which is indeed a contrast to the 4 per cent of BlackBerry and Android users.

Now if you are wondering why the majority of Apple users are in-debt, it is due to the fact that over 42 per cent of people in London own an iPhone as compared to only 15 per cent of Android owners.

The latest mobile phones foal in the Blackberry stable is available as a contract mobile phone, and if you are prepared to sign up for a 24 month contract the mobile phone deals to be had are some of the best around. This is top of the range Blackberry technology, and as well as the normal mobile office applications this comes with the added bonus of being able to read your office documents, and yes, you can edit them too. With this model wherever you go you can take your mobile office with you.

Blackberry mobile phones offer a full QWERTY keyboard, which for many is the preferred way to text and email, and the Blackberry Curve 8900 also offers a built in music player. This is one of the latest mobile phones to watch, but for some there is not a great hurry to make a decision and they will be happy to wait until the mobile phone news has had time to process and review this new addition fully, to see whether it really has all that it claims to have.

Whatever the reviewers decide it is already clear that this is one sleek looking handset that comes with built in GPS and Bluetooth. It also offers you the ability to expand the memory with an optional memory card slot, which means that you can have a massive amount of tunes stored for your MP3 player or keep lots of pictures that you take with the built in camera, the choice is yours.
